Brave space: opening up for psychological safety
Our speaker and expert, Evita Lammes, will define social safety, psychological safety, safe space, and brave space, so these terms become clear and usable in daily practice. She will show that a brave space goes beyond simply naming negative behaviour; it also means daring to ask questions and seek real depth in conversations, guided by curiosity instead of judgment.

She will explain why it matters to accept that things can go wrong, drawing on Amy Edmondson’s concept of the fearless organisation and how cultural context shapes it. She will also talk about what kind of environment allows that mindset to grow. Evita will explore whether this can be captured in policy, and which people have the greatest influence on making it happen.

Evita will close with three practical tools for building a brave space in your own team.

She has trained thousands of professionals through her training sessions, keynotes, and advisory work, delivered for organisations including TNO, the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW), and the Dutch National Police.
